If the Mountain Goats had gone past Port Washington, they might have wound up in Sea Cliff, the Long Island town where Turnip King hail from. “Rooms/Fleece”, a song from their upcoming Fire Talk release, Moon Landing, is “a lo-fi shoegaze garage extravaganza”, combining a Mount Eerie wall-of-sound aesthetic with a pop-punk inspired melody and good old fashioned lo-fi production. Moon Landing is out May 28, digitally and on cassette, via Fire Talk Records.
Played with this band in N.J on Friday. Honestly, listen to their whole EP because I think it’s real good and they’re extraordinary people. It’s labeled as “name your own price”, so go download it (there’s no reason not to.)
Don’t you want to listen to music that is made by great/fun/cool people because they put it together themselves?
Big Nils, Beach Moms, and other rad bands are featured. Brought to you by Verbal Rocket- the e-zine for unsigned indie music/bands/reviews/compilations.
