Turnip King - Not Just Some Cool Ass Psych Punk band with catchy melodies, they also are super tight! Turnip King is trippy beyond belief in a world held in a vortex of music production focussed on short catchy poppy songs. A breath of fresh air to ears trying to freshen the sounds they take in, Turnip King features a rhythm and bass section that you can tell have practiced extensively together, sync well together, and seemingly write rhythm parts based off what one another is doing as opposed to what each one thinks cool sounds cool individually. Lead singer Lucia Arias vocals float through like Bob Ross paints fluttering eternally on the epic songs on “Moon Landing?” their latest EP released yesterday. (Epic as in the 5 songs average out to about 6:15 seconds a track!- Low - 4:45, High 8:28). Her guitar work also features super catchy riffs adding complex layers rarely seen in your average punk or garage rock act.
